Optimal reactive power pricing with transformer variable taps using genetic algorithm

<span lang="EN-US">Ancillary services in interconnected networks are crucial to secure real power transfers, maintaining network reliability, improving quality as well stability. Reactive has always been of special importance one the most substantial ancillary required control voltage grid. This paper presents a fresh reactive pricing approach by embedding variable transformer taps into ampere (var) method. To carry out resultant optimization problem with set complicating constraints, genetic algorithm takes part and guarantees global optimal solution. The simulation results show that when tap works variable, total cost can be decreased. However, incorporation model slightly complicates profiles sensitivity bus voltages variations system is increased. Further, findings reiterate position taps, technically, security index enhanced while var price for end-users (lowest purchase independent operator) being more reasonable. simulate proposed method, standard IEEE 30-bus employed analyze method.</span>
